Eugenie Bouchard, the new Sharapova, featured in Flare Magazine

World No.19 and Australian Open semifinalist Eugenie Bouchard has the game and the looks to succeed Maria Sharapova in the synergy of tennis and business and the blond Canadian‘s feature in the March 2014 issue of Flare Magazine in her country is just the early proof of her projected stardom.

Louis Vuitton Neverfull and nude Christian Louboutin heels are Genie’s two most recent luxurious purchases and if she continues to stride in the current direction, she will definitely have many more such buys, just like Sharapova who sure knows business and the fact that she picked Genie to promote her Nike fashion line confirms the 19-year-old’s marketing potential.

Sharapova is not the only one seeing bucks in Bouchard. The Canadian’s agent, Sam Duvall, said that Bouchard has the personality, game and looks to even surpass Sharapova’s commercial success, while Stacey Allaster, chief executive of the WTA, considers Bouchard an incredibly talented and marketing-savvy athlete who is a very marketable brand ambassador, excellent for partnerships. 1. I wouldn’t hate if some went to play tennis in 20’s look like what Eugenie Bouchard has in this collection of photos

  2. Genie is cute and intelligent, but she isn’t Maria. There are other competitors in the top 100 like Donna Vekic, Sloan Stephens, Kat Makarova, Sorana Cirstea, Domi Cibulkova, Ana Ivanovic, Sabine Lisicki, Andrea Petkovic, Galina Voskoboeva, Maria Kirilenko, Monica Puig, Ajla Tomljankovic, Vania King, Kristina Mladenovic and Olga Govortsova.

  3. Dxana, I love the 1920s style, that’s why I like the sophisticated L’Etoile tennis clothes, they are inspired by that period.

JohnnyB, time will tell what will turn out of Bouchard, but I’m sure that Sharapova, Bouchard’s agent and Allaster know what they’re talking about.

  4. There is how this ladies play tennis on the courts and how they can be market to promo a product or brand. Eugenie Bouchard has the quality that surpass all the ladies list by JohnnyB in the department of promoting a product and brand that appeal to marketable audience. But like Marija state that only time can tell where actually would come true.

  5. And so the comparisons begin. Just like Dimitrov and the baby Federer tag this is going to get annoying. I have no doubt it is good to be compared to someone as successful on and off the court as Sharapova but Genie is a different person, different story and probably just wants to get on with her career her own way without the constant “next Sharapova” tag.. No doubt she is incredibly talented and a marketers dream but lets let her get out there and start winning some titles first.
