How to pack like Maria Sharapova

I was really wondering how Maria Sharapova manages to find time for all the shopping to always look stunning and how she finds enough space for packing all the completely different and perfectly coordinated outfits? Only at the start of her visit to Sochi, where she is working as an Olympic Games ambassador and special correspondent for NBC, the Russian had three events which required her to look glamorous: the Porsche Panamera GTS presentation, Sugarpova event and the Samsung Galaxy Studio Olympic Park Opening. So how does she do it? Careful planning and 10 to 12 coats do wonders!

When I planned my trip here, I knew I had a lot of responsibilities and some events for my sponsors and TV appearances so I really had to put my outfits together because once I got here I need to know what I’m wearing. We’re in winter so I think I brought 10 or 12 coats with me, which is crazy!

Which items didn’t find their way to Masha’s suitcase?

Definitely the super-high, pointed-toe heels! I’m not one to sacrifice style for comfort, but comfortable and maneuverable heels and boots are a must.

It was also an advantage that Maria grew up in Sochi and new what to expect from the climate:

I’m fortunate because I know what to pack for Sochi, having grown up here. It’s more temperate than most people think, and it’s all about layering.

Sharapova’s style icon is Audrey Hepburn, while currently her favorite designers are Sarah Burton for McQueen, Tom Ford, Isabel Marant to Rick Owens. (source: Maria Sharapova’s official website)
