After her successful Doha (which included two singles and two doubles victories and saw her rise 37 spots in the singles rankings), Alisa Kleybanova lost in the first round of Dubai and in the qualifying of Acapulco. Now at the Premier-level BNP Paribas Open she’s making her way upwards again, advancing to the third round, with a 5-7 6-4 6-4 hard-earned triumph over Victoria Duval in the first round and then a 6-3 6-2 victory over Garbine Muguruza in the second.
Kleybanova is also making a fashion statement. Venus Williams may be absent from the tournament, but her clothing line EleVen is well represented by the Russian comeback player who is wearing a lilac racerback tank with built-in visible bra as the tank is loose on the sides and a colorful floral skort. The whole outfit is available at Tennis Warehouse and costs a total of $126.
