Earlier today I showed you Adidas clothes that world No.1 Angelique Kerber will wear at the 2017 Australian Open and now it’s time to present the brand’s Stella McCartney Barricade line to be sported by Garbine Muguruza and Caroline Wozniacki.
The first big change happening in 2017 is that Muguruza has taken over Wozniacki as the brand’s leading representative and will wear dresses from now on, while the Dane is switching to separates for the first time since becoming Stella’s girl back in 2010.
The world No.7 Spaniard will debut the Adidas Spring Stella McCartney Barricade Dress in hypergreen and white. The lightweight slim-fit item is empowered by Clima™ technologies and seamless structures with mesh cut out details, providing comfort and breathability in Melbourne’s heat.
Muguruza’s flexible and supportive Adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade 2017 footwear is designed specifically for women.
While Muguruza is saying goodbye to the laser-cut details that marked her 2016 fashion, Wozniacki is now taking over that Stella’s signature detail with her bold blue and white Adidas Spring Stella McCartney Barricade Skirt.
The Dane will match the familiar silhouette of the skirt with the Adidas Spring Stella McCartney Barricade Tank in vibrant hypergreen and bold blue.
The world No.19 Wozniacki will complete her look with the Adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade Boost 2017 shoe, about which she says:
BOOST is something you need to feel to believe; my game is more energised and I’m lighter and faster on my feet.
What do you think about the new collection? Are you pleased to see Garbi getting the dresses?

Love this collection! Adidas have definitely upped their game for this year!
I think this collection is very pleasant on the eye. The design colors everything. I personally think garbine totally deserves being the face of the line after all she’s the only grandslam champ from that line although that doesn’t mean Caro can’t get her own outfits. However I hope gabi plays consistently this year unlike last year. She needs to be awake for all matches not just big matches against top players.
P.s I like how tennis brands exchange each other’s ideas! This outfit has a meshy back similar to last year Serena’s Aus open outfits as well as aga’s and Marias. looks like this is a new thing in women’s tennis fashion. JJ’s post USO outfit is very similar to Venus 2009 USO outfit. Of course we cannot forget how Venus brought prints back to tennis and new Nike collection resembles Zebra print ( I like the new name you gave ~ piano print! I see that being a thing and remember serena’s AUS open 2015 look was very similar to venus wimbledon look from early 2000’s) Looks like a fun year for tennis fashion
Sru, it will definitely be a fun year! I’m still waiting for the confirmation whether Serena will wear the piano dress. Personally, I love those mesh insets at back, although Aga’s Lotto ones were not that good.
What a wonderful collection! What do you think of the move to put muguruza in the dress? Do you prefer the dress or separates?
Roberto, last season I liked all Stella’s designs, but I preferred separates a tiny bit. I’m glad to see Garbi switching to dresses. I like the change. And even though ppl generally say that separates are better suited for her, I’m looking forward to seeing her in dresses.
Must say, Caroline looks amazing in the blue separates! However, this blue-on-blue in AO…not certain this is the best choice, although I really love the colour.
Both collections are superb! The choices of colors suits the Australian hardcourts. I personally like Caro’s kit. One of her best Stella McCartney kits.
