Introducing the new Hari collection of her brand EleVen, Venus Williams kicked off her 2018 Indian Wells campaign with a 6-3 6-4 victory over Romania’s Sorana Cirstea, setting up a blockbuster third-round match against sister Serena. But did you know that the name of the collection actually comes from her dog’s name Harold? Read on for more about Venus’ inspiration behind the new printed range.
Venus told Shape magazine that her pet Harold, who travels the world with the tennis superstar, actually “collaborated” with her in the creative process behind the Hari collection by pointing her attention towards the vibrant print.
The Hari collection offers everything from tank tops and skirts, to track pants, jackets and accessories, while in her first match at Indian Wells Venus showcased the collection’s statement piece – the Hari Captivate Dress.
Scoop shape at the neck and back and ruffled hem, together with subtle abstract print, put romance and femininity front and center. Colors baja blue and sharp green are combined with white and black to create a unique vibe of this new collection, whose colorblocked sections and mesh upper back add a contemporary touch. Performance features include four-way stretch, UPF 50 protection, EleVen Ozone and EleVen Pro-Dri.
Besides the dress, my favorite items in the collection are the Hari Portal Tank, the Hari Verge Skirt and the Hari Tennis Backpack.
Venus likes to wear a variety of outfits during a single tournament, so let’s see what the American will choose for the all-Williams third-round match at the BNP Paribas Open.
It lookS like fleas all over the outfits, i can see why it’s inspired by her dog!
Ric, I wouldn’t agree but it is funny hahahah.
I love the new design! Can’t quite see how it’s inspired by her dog. But i love the colors and the the skirts are beautiful!
