Tuesday was a busy day at the Nature Valley International, but our Jimmie48 is used to action-packed schedules, so he managed to make it to the majority of second-round matches in Eastbourne.

Most notably, third seed Petra Kvitova continued her impervious form with a 7-5 6-3 victory over Kateryna Bondarenko, building onto her last weekend’s Birmingham title with the hopes of a third Wimbledon title soon in her biography. The Czech’s third-round opponent is set to be Agnieszka Radwanska, who is successfully constructing a comeback on her favorite surface, her Tuesday’s victory being over seed No.15 Daria Gavrilova with an interesting scoreline of 5-7 7-6(4) 6-0. A photo of Gavrilova spreading her arms and throwing her racquet to catch a ball is my favorite in this gallery.

Playing her first match since losing in the first round of her Roland Garros title defense, fifth seed Jelena Ostapenko beat Kaia Kanepi 6-3 7-5, while fourth seed Angelique Kerber comfortably defeated Dominika Cibulkova 6-3 6-3 to make it to the third round.

Sixth seed Julia Goerges was the biggest casualty on Tuesday, falling to Aryna Sabalenka 1-6 6-4 6-4. British No.1 Johanna Konta cruised past Aleksandra Krunic 6-1 6-3, seventh seed Daria Kasatkina fought past Alison Van Uytvanck 5-7 6-4 6-1, while Mihaela Buzarnescu is still a common name in later stages of tournaments, this time sending home seed No.12 Kiki Bertens 3-6 7-6(5) 6-3.

All these matches and more were covered by our Jimmie48. Enjoy this photo gallery from Eastbourne!
