Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams traditionally mingled with a movie star crowd at the Academy Awards and Vanity Fair Oscars party, wearing extravagant dresses that will stay remembered for the years to come.
Sharapova sparkled in Lanvin from head to toe at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday in Beverly Hills, California. I’ve always admired Masha’s fashion sense, but this asymmetric frill dress is not doing it for me. What do you think?
I much prefer the Russian’s outfit of choice for the 27th annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party at West Hollywood Park, which took place ahead of the Oscars. Georgian designer David Koma always creates phenomenal dresses for Maria and this time he made this custom black dress with vertical see-through stripes and elegant bell cuffs. Stuart Weitzman shoes completed the look.
While getting ready to hit the red carpet of the 91st Academy Awards, Masha took to Instagram to remind us of her favorite Vanity Fair party looks through the years. Above left is her famous white swan Alexander McQueen dress from 2012, above right is her 2013 navy gown signed by Amanda Wakeley.
The 2016 white long-sleeve dress is Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, while in 2017 Masha wore a long royal blue studded dress from David Koma’s Spring 2017 collection.
While her husband was babysitting, Serena Williams impressed at the Oscars in a custom Armani Privé black strapless body-hugging gown with a bustier top embroidered in crimson crystals, while at the Vanity Fair after party the G.O.A.T. wore a long-sleeve gown adorned with sparkling blue flowers and a multi-tier tulle cascading down to the ground, reminiscent of the tennis legend’s US Open 2018 Virgil Abloh dress.
"When we're young, we all have dreams of what we can accomplish in life," Serena Williams says while discussing "A Star Is Born" the 2019 #Oscars.

Moreover, Nike‘s new ad called “Dream Crazier”, which is narrated by Williams, aired during the 91st Academy Awards broadcast.
