Just two weeks after launching the EleVen Ikat collection at the BNP Paribas Open, Venus Williams introduced a number of Isola looks at the Miami Open, before being stopped by Simona Halep in the fourth round. WTA players tend to promote a single outfit throughout a tournament, while Venus, who wears her own clothing brand, is known for mixing and matching different items for every single appearance. Let’s have a look at the four Isola combos that the American legend presented in Miami.
In the first round against Slovenia’s Dalila Jakupovic, Venus rocked the black-and-white Isola Mock Neck Tank and one of several black skirt styles that EleVen has on offer (I’d say it’s the Black Flutter Skirt).
Against Carla Suarez Navarro in the second round, Venus showed that the Isola collection is not only about black and white contrast.
This blue long-sleeve top includes a large black colorblock on the back, a common detail in EleVen designs, and the Baja Blue Flutter Skirt.
For her third-round encounter with Daria Kasatkina, Venus brought Wimbledon vibes, if we disregard the black straps and black side section of the Isola Vision Tank, which also exists in baja blue and coral. EleVen describes this top as a multi strap tank with asymmetrical texture mesh hip inset. Pairing the provocative tank with a crisp white pleated skirt produced the perfect balance between traditional and daring tennis fashion.
The fashion-forward tank top made another appearance at the 2019 Miami Open, in Venus’ fourth-round meeting with Simona Halep, but this time it was accompanied by just as provocative Isola Vision Skirt, an asymmetric faux-wrap design with mesh hip insets and a generous side slit that together with the tank’s hollow bra straps produces a seductive sports look.
Looking at my sneak peek at Venus Williams’ 2019 collections, we can expect the next EleVen wave to bring leopard print. I’m ready!
