Love wins! Tennis couple Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils surprised the world this Saturday by announcing engagement!
The news is quite a shock as they had parted ways in February this year, only to give us hints of a reunion a couple of days ago. I was right when I told you they were most probably back together, as they posted love messages on social media and revived their joint Instagram account.
The couple announced the engagement news on social media, as the WTA world No.5 Svitolina showed a bedazzled engagement ring. The Ukrainian tennis star said:

The ATP world No.14 Monfils already calls Svitolina Madame Monfils. He is proud that his long-time girlfriend said “yes.”

The only thing I don’t understand are the dates and Roman numbers in their messages. Is their marriage scheduled for July 2021? What do they suggest with (XV) (III)?
Svitolina and Monfils have been dating for about two years now. The couple’s Instagram account bio features the following quote:
We’re not perfect. We make mistakes. And we’ll make more mistakes. And that’s OK.
