Jessica Pegula‘s wedding is just days away. The 27-year-old American, who has just lost to Victoria Azarenka in the BNP Paribas Open quarterfinals, will marry her long-time partner Taylor Gahagen next week.

Rising to a career-high ranking of No.23 and reaching her first Grand Slam quarterfinal at the Australian Open are not the only things Pegula will remember the year 2021 for. On Friday, October 22, the American tennis player will put on a wedding dress and marry her fiancé Taylor Gahagen.

Who is Jessica Pegula’s husband-to-be Taylor Gahagen?

Taylor Gahagen’s LinkedIn profile states that he graduated with an MBA from Canisius College and studied at the State University of New York at Fredonia, where he received a BSc in business administration. Now the American works as a senior investment analyst at Private Single Family Office and he is Senior Vice President at ADPRO Sports, Inc. Moreover, together with his tennis star wife he founded A Landing Paw, a non-profit organization that supports the rescue of dogs, training them to become service animals, and delivering them to people who need service or therapy dogs.

From 2013 to 2020, Gahagen worked as director of brand strategy and corporate development at Pegula Sports and Entertainment (a company owned by Jessica’s parents). For one year in that time frame he also worked on media buying and marketing strategy for Pegulas’ NHL professional ice hockey team, the Buffalo Sabres.

Playing the BNP Paribas Open with the wedding just days away was not a problem for Pegula. However, what does make her uneasy is her WTA friend Jennifer Brady, who constantly puts off shopping for a wedding outfit:

I invited her (to the wedding) and I’m slightly worried. I don’t know if she has a dress, she keeps saying she’s going to look for one but every time I ask her she’s like ‘yeah I’ll go look today’ and I’m like you’re not. She says that every single day.

So I’m a little worried. I was talking to Madison Keys, and she was like ‘I guarantee if she comes back to Orlando she’s going to be like hey, do you have a dress that I can wear.’ So yeah, definitely do not trust her.

After the wedding, Pegula was supposed to travel to Prague to represent the United States in the November 1-6 Billie Jean King Cup Finals. However, she was in contact with a COVID-19 positive person and has been replaced by Shelby Rogers, who will join Danielle Collins, Sloane Stephens, CoCo Vandeweghe and Caroline Dolehide at the six-day event inside the O2 Arena.
