Two weeks after announcing partnership with Evian, Emma Raducanu continues to get closer to her projected status of the first ever billionaire female athlete by entering the British Airways family as their global brand ambassador.
Winning the 2021 US Open, Raducanu became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam title since 1977. As an overnight superstar, the 19-year-old has continually been securing high-profile sponsorship deals. The partnership with British Airways is her first with with a brand from Great Britain.
British Airways carried Raducanu and her team home after the historic US Open triumph. Next year, they will fly the WTA player to tournaments and training around the world, including the French Open and US Open, as well as big events in California and Rome.
The world No.19 Raducanu commented on her new sponsor:
British Airways has taken such good care of my team and I ever since the US Open and I have felt their support everywhere I have flown. To be partnering with such an iconic British brand that can play a big role in my performance makes a lot of sense to me. I’m fascinated by aviation and we have some interesting projects planned together.
