Former Nike player Belinda Bencic has become a new ambassador of Asics, soon after world No.1 Iga Swiatek left the Japanese family to join the On team.
Asics has announced that Olympic gold medalist and WTA world No.11 Bencic has been added to the list of the brand’s tennis ambassadors, which includes Matteo Berrettini, Novak Djokovic, Claire Liu, Alex de Minaur, Alycia Parks, Jasmine Paoloni.
“Asics is renowned all over the world for their top technical footwear and apparel that they combine with their commitment to helping people of all walks of life live a lifestyle of a sound mind in a sound body,” said the 26-year-old Bencic, who is wearing the Asics Women’s Spring Match Dress in the promo photo. “This fits well with my own personal viewpoints and I am excited to step onto the court in my Asics gear with that knowledge in the back of my mind.”
Bencic will sport Asics Solution Speed FF 2 tennis shoes. The lightest, fastest and most flexible footwear in the company’s range is a perfect choice for the Swiss’ all-court playing style which relies on speed and tactical precision.
Having already won two titles in the 2023 season, the Adelaide International 2 and the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, Bencic’s addition to the Asics athlete roster will strengthen the brand’s global presence as the clay season is underway in Europe. Currently nurturing a hip injury, Bencic is missing the tournaments in Madrid and Rome, but she expects to be fully healed in time for Roland Garros.
