A year after their engagement at Wimbledon, Petra Kvitova and her coach Jiri Vanek exchanged vows in a secret wedding ceremony held in a luxurious weekend getaway relatively close to Prague on July 22.
The Czech tennis couple tied the knot at the enchanting Oblik resort, in the heart of the Central Bohemian Highlands, a perfect setting for a holiday, birthday party, wedding or team building. According to local media, the wedding was attended by notable guests, including WTA player Barbora Strycova.

During the 2016 off-season, Jiri Vanek assumed the role of Petra Kvitova’s coach after previously working with Karolina Pliskova. Speculation about their relationship began in June 2020 when Vanek was seen staying in Kvitova’s apartment. During this period, Vanek was going through a divorce from his wife Marketa, with whom he shares two sons. The two-time Wimbledon champion Kvitova refuted the dating rumors at that time but later confirmed in an interview with Blesk, just before participating in the 2021 US Open Series, that her coach was indeed her boyfriend. The word is out that they started dating in May 2021, during the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome.
