The women’s tennis world will get two new books later in 2024 as Venus Williams and Anett Kontaveit will give fans a deeper insight into their remarkable journeys both on and off the court.
Venus Williams has already made her book, “STRIVE,” available for preorder, set to be officially released on September 10th, suggesting that the American strategically picked the date so that she can promote the project during the final days of the US Open when the seasonal interest in the sport is at its peak.
In her announcement, the five-time Wimbledon champion expressed her excitement, stating, “I’m so excited to share that my new book, STRIVE, is officially available for preorder! I can’t wait to share more of my story, including all of the tips and tricks and sometimes a little tough love that have helped me on my personal journey.”

“An inspiring and innovative guide towards living your best life–made easy,” states the book description. Venus shares valuable insights into her dietary habits, training regimen, core discipline and relaxation techniques, offering a glimpse into the life of a true champion. The question on everyone’s mind: How does she manage to do it all?
In “STRIVE,” readers will discover how eight small yet crucial principles can transform wise decisions into ingrained habits. This shift leads to the creation of a lifestyle that you embrace willingly, not out of necessity—and it is at this point that you begin to achieve true success.

Former world No.2 Anett Kontaveit recently teased her upcoming book with a behind-the-scenes video of her photoshoot. In a social media post, her publisher Pilgrim shared, “Something beautiful is being born. This is the story of Anett reaching the absolute top of the tennis world and the challenges she faced there.”
Kontaveit’s book is set to be published in November 2024, promising an intimate look at her journey to the top of the tennis world and the obstacles she overcame along the way. It’s highly probable that the book will be in Estonian, considering that Eia Uus, an Estonian writer and journalist, is credited as the author.
The 28-year-old Kontaveit, the highest-ranked Estonian tennis player in history, retired in 2023, just two years after her most successful tennis season in which she won four of her six WTA titles. At Grand Slams, her best showing was the 2020 Australian Open quarterfinals.
I am always amazed that everyone seems to feel they must write a book about their “journey” when they are still so young. Venus has obviously been a megastar and has reached an age where she might have something to say, but Anett Kontaveit? Maybe just an excuse for some sexy pictures? I suppose there must be money in it or the publishers wouldn’t be interested.
CLT, I totally understand your point. Especially as we age, we realize how little we actually knew by the age of 30. However, Kontaveit will write about her tennis journey, which is over, so it does make sense. Also, for example, Sharapova published her autobiography at a young age as well, but it was really an inspiring story about determination and sacrifice that everyone could learn from.
