When the WTA marriage and baby boom first started somewhere in 2016, I thought it would last a few months, but as time goes by, it’s only picking up steam and the latest members in the moms-to-be club are Elena Vesnina and Martina Hingis.
The 32-year-old Vesnina married businessman Pavel Tabuntsov in Moscow in November 2015, with many Russian tennis players in attendance, and less than three years into the marriage, the baby is on the way. Vesnina’s last tournament was Roland Garros 2018.
A little over two months after saying “yes” for the second time, Martina Hingis and her husband Harald Leemann are expecting a baby girl. The Swiss tennis legend shared the happy news on Twitter, on the day of her 38th birthday (September 30th), by posting this cute US Open dress and saying:
Thanks for all the birthday wishes! Happy to share that this will be the last time we’ll celebrate as a couple… excited to announce that we will become a family of three!
