Women’s singles champion Elena Rybakina made an unusual fashion chose for her debut appearance at the Wimbledon Champions Ball, pairing a white gown that looks like a wedding dress with casual white sneakers.
The 23-year-old Rybakina was glowing at the glamorous event, with romantic curls in her hair and her radiant face exuding youth and happiness. After wearing the all-white Adidas Parley London Tennis Dress during the two weeks of competition, the representative of Kazakhstan opted to stick to white for the Wimbledon Champions Ball.
The newly-crowned Grand Slam winner chose a floor-length white dress with sheer long sleeves and green embroidery. As some people commented, the men’s singles champion Novak Djokovic and Elena Rybakina looked like a bride and a groom.
What’s very unconventional is that Rybakina chose to pair the bridal gown, as we may call it, with everyday white sneakers, although luxury ones — Gucci’s classic low-top model embellished with the gold embroidered bee against the green and red web.
Not everyone will approve this fashion ensemble that combines formal and casual, but Rybakina can pull it off, given her young age.
Rybakina still hasn’t posted about her victory on Instagram and we’re yet to see social media buzz about her triumph among the WTA players.
As the WTA is not awarding ranking points for this year’s Wimbledon, Rybakina continues to occupy position No.23 in the updated WTA rankings.
My exact thoughts about Elena and Nole! She is almost as tall as him..no wonder she wore sneakers.
I think it’s great to see her wearing comfortable shoes rather than something which is hard to stand up in and damages her feet and back. I have often thought that the tennis players looked kind of odd in really high heels, as if they were playing dress ups. There’s only a few of them with real style who can pull it off, Maria Sharapova, Garbine Muguruza….
My initial reaction was shock when I saw the shoes she chose to pair with such a romantic dress. However, already at second glance I started to like it. She’s young and beautiful, she should wear what she feels comfortable in and she will always look good. You’re right, CLT, tennis players often look odd in high heels, so it’s good to see Rybakina enjoying her comfort zone, her face is glowing and she looks natural.
She looks stunning.
The dress and trainers look very much now.
Something about this girl….
