Born in Switzerland to Slovak parents, Belinda Bencic’s journey in the world of tennis has been nothing short of extraordinary. Since 2018, she has found unwavering support in her relationship with Martin Hromkovic, a former football player hailing from Slovakia, who brings not only love but also a wealth of life experience, being 15 years her senior.
Their social media announcement consists of a series of selfies showing the excitement about this impending new chapter. Accompanying the snapshots is a caption, playfully featuring a baby bottle, which reads:
Expecting our little miracle soon! We can’t wait to meet you.
In the early stages of their relationship back in 2018, Bencic expressed her admiration for the profound level of understanding she shared with her fitness coach and boyfriend, Hromkovic:
Fortunately, we can separate private and professional life well. When I work, I really see him as a coach. I hope it stays that way. For him, the job is done when I’m fit. Martin was an athlete himself, a footballer. So he understands well when I’m nervous or tense.
The 26-year-old Bencic currently holds the 14th position in the WTA singles rankings. Her most recent tournament appearance was at the San Diego Open in September. In the year 2023, Bencic achieved notable success by clinching two titles: the Abu Dhabi and Adelaide 2 tournaments, bringing her total career titles to eight.
Going to miss Belinda on the tour, but wonderful news for her! Congratulations and all the best to Belinda and Martin!
