Boulter, 28, and De Minaur, 25, have been together for nearly five years, having confirmed their relationship in March 2021, on their one-year anniversary. Throughout their time together, both have reached significant milestones in their tennis careers. In November 2024, Boulter achieved a career-high ranking of No. 23, securing two WTA titles during this past season, including defending her Nottingham Open title. De Minaur also enjoyed a successful year, breaking into the ATP Top 10 and earning the prestigious Newcombe Medal, awarded to Australia’s most outstanding tennis player.

The couple’s engagement comes just days before their teams are set to face each other in the upcoming United Cup. Scheduled for January 1 in Sydney, the Great Britain vs. Australia clash could determine the winner of Group F, adding a unique dynamic to their personal and professional lives.

“I wouldn’t say I was thrilled at the idea of playing him all over again,” Boulter remarked on Monday, as De Minaur trained just behind her on Ken Rosewall Arena.

“He’s a Top 10 player and he knows how to play tennis, so there’s one side of it. Then there’s the personal side of it which is difficult but also great for bragging rights.”

Their relationship has been marked by public displays of support, with both frequently attending each other’s matches. They even teamed up for mixed doubles at Wimbledon in 2023, where they reached the second round.
