In the first all-American final on U.S. soil since the 2017 US Open (Sloane Stephens vs. Madison Keys), Jessica Pegula overcame McCartney Kessler to win the ATX Open in Austin, securing her seventh WTA title.

Competing at the WTA 250 event in Texas, Pegula claimed victories over Arantxa Rus, Nuria Parrizas-Diaz, Anna Blinkova, Ajla Tomljanovic, and finally, fifth-seeded Kessler in the championship match.

The final started with Pegula establishing a 2-0 lead, but she soon found herself trailing 4-2 after dropping serve twice. However, the top seed quickly regrouped, winning five of the next six games to take the opening set. In the second set, she immediately surrendered her serve but responded with a break of her own, seizing control of the match. The only real scare came in the fifth game, where Pegula fended off two break points before cruising to a straight-sets victory, 7-5 6-2.

This triumph marks an important milestone for Pegula, snapping a three-match losing streak in finals. She had previously fallen short in Adelaide 2025, the 2024 US Open, and Cincinnati 2024, making this title win all the more significant.
