As time passes, it’s becoming more and more apparent that Ana Ivanovic and Bastian Schweinsteiger may have indeed separated. Though neither of them has officially commented on the rumors, an earlier interview with Ivanovic could offer a glimpse into the issues that may have contributed to her frustration in the marriage—and potentially shed light on the reported breakup.
Last year, the Serbian tennis star appeared on the Alesto podcast, where she opened up about the everyday challenges of marriage. In her discussion, she hinted at some of the tensions in her relationship with Bastian, revealing that, like many married couples, they too have moments of misunderstanding.
“Bastian doesn’t understand me. He tells me, ‘But you have an organization problem,’ which I find really funny because I’m very organized. I try to explain to him that I don’t have a problem with organization, but that I just have too many things that can’t fit into one day, but he doesn’t understand that. He has organization, time to rest, to have a coffee, and he doesn’t understand why I can’t organize my day the same way,” Ivanovic shared with a smile during the interview.
At the time, Ivanovic may have approached the subject lightheartedly, but such underlying issues can build up over time—especially when raising three children. This could be the very frustration that led to the couple’s reported breakup after almost nine years of marriage.
According to German media, several factors contributed to the breakdown of their marriage—stress, travel, differing locations, and a lack of family life. Distance between the two reportedly played a significant role in the erosion of their relationship.
Further fueling speculation is the fact that until recently, Schweinsteiger wore his wedding ring without fail. Earlier this month, Schweinsteiger posted a photo on Instagram and his ring was clearly visible on his finger. But as rumors of their separation emerged, recent images suggest that Schweinsteiger may no longer be concealing the truth about the divorce. In the latest photos and videos circulating in the media, the German former footballer can be seen without his wedding band—a noticeable detail that has raised many questions about the state of his marriage.
In February, Ivanovic shared a selfie from Athens where she is seen without the wedding ring she normally wears. The last private photo of the couple, showing her and her husband in Vienna, dates back to November 25, 2024.

It’s believed that the couple quietly separated about two months ago, though they chose not to make an official public statement. While Ivanovic has been spending time with their children in Belgrade, Schweinsteiger is reportedly residing in Munich.
For several months, Ivanovic’s social media presence has been largely limited to selfies, aside from campaign videos she and Bastian filmed together for the BRAX fashion brand, for which they both serve as ambassadors.
