In July, Jelena Dokic introduced her first relationship since ending her 19-year partnership with Tin Bikic. The former Wimbledon semifinalist found love with Yane Veselinov, a Melbourne-based hospitality manager. The couple recently vacationed in Bali, and media speculation about a possible engagement began after a diamond ring was spotted on Dokic’s finger in early August. However, her latest social media posts have raised concerns that she may once again be single.

Two months ago, Dokic proudly went public with her new romance, sharing a beaming photo with Veselinov alongside the words: “You are my calm, safe, peaceful and happy place. So glad I found you.” In her first interview since making the relationship public, speaking to Stellar Magazine this month, she explained: “He’s not anonymous anymore. We talk about that a lot and I want to make sure that he’s OK, that he doesn’t feel like [his] privacy was invaded.”
She added: “I’m really grateful and lucky to have found someone I can be so happy with at the moment. It’s early, it’s new. But we understand each other and he’s incredibly kind and generous.”

Her remarks came after she and Veselinov enjoyed a romantic getaway in Bali, where they visited Tegallalang and Ubud, which are renowned for their scenic wedding venues. While media outlets speculated that a diamond ring on her finger at the Logie Awards signaled an engagement, it was almost certainly just an item from a sponsorship.
However, in recent days, Dokic’s Instagram activity has shifted to deeply personal and introspective posts, suggesting she may be navigating heartbreak. Three days ago, she shared a selfie accompanied by an emotional reflection:
“It’s moving forward and not quitting even after a day that almost broke you. Not quitting on yourself when you so badly want to and feel like you just can’t go on. It’s getting up when everything inside you is screaming to stay down.”
“Never give up, especially on yourself,” the 42-year-old concluded.

The very next day, she posted a photo taken from an airplane window, paired with an even more poignant message:
In life sometimes you have to be honest with yourself as hard as it might be and realise:
‘I have people close to me or I am with someone that doesn’t love me, doesn’t appreciate me and doesn’t value me.
I am not seen, heard, accepted or loved.‘
It is such a hard truth to face and accept.
Especially when you have given it your all.But the moment you admit this, you start to take your power back and you reclaim your worth.
You can start to look forward and heal.
Choose yourself.
You don’t need to be and you shouldn’t be somewhere or with someone that doesn’t truly love you, care for you and truly see you.
You are enough and worth so much more than that.
Choose yourself always over people and relationships that make you feel less, not worthy, like an option and not enough.
Unless there is real, deep, unconditional love and care, move on.
Choose you. Always.
A lot of followers praised Jelena for opening up, saying her honesty offered comfort to others going through similar struggles. Many commented that her words were exactly what they needed to find strength and keep moving forward.
Jelena is still processing the complex grief of her estranged father’s passing in May, but these recent Instagram posts don’t appear to be connected to that. I might be wrong, but they really do read like a breakup. Hopefully I am wrong, as I was really happy to see her in a loving relationship after everything she had been through. What do you think?
