Brazilian tennis star Beatriz Haddad Maia took to social media to share a photo with her boyfriend, Alex Daoud, revealing their relationship for the first time.
On Monday, September 29, the world No. 44 Haddad Maia shared a photo on Instagram alongside Daoud, who, according to his own profile, works in the neurosurgery department at Santa Casa de Sao Paulo. The post was accompanied by a short caption: “You❤️⏳.”
Fans and friends flooded the comments section with messages of support. One wrote, “Still, she is loving and being loved,” while another added, “Luckiest man ever.”
Just days earlier, Haddad had surprised fans by announcing that she would cut her 2025 season short. The 29-year-old explained that the decision was made to prioritize her health and well-being:
“I am posting this to share with you that I am wrapping up my 2025 season a little ahead of schedule so that I can rest my body and mind for a longer period,” the former Top 10 player shared in her statement. “…Rest assured that I will come back stronger and the best is yet to come!”
It was a tough season for Haddad Maia, marked by a difficult stretch from January to April in which she lost nine consecutive matches, including two Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers. She wrapped up her 2025 campaign at the Korea Open in Seoul.
