After fueling speculation about a possible breakup by posting the cryptic message “I am with someone that doesn’t love me”, Jelena Dokic has pushed back strongly against media reports suggesting trouble in her relationship with Yane Veselinov. To silence the rumors, the former tennis star shared a carousel of affectionate selfies with her boyfriend, making it clear that they are still together.

In the Instagram post, all of the photos featured Dokic and Veselinov, with captions emphasizing the qualities she values in love: “choose the person that makes you feel safe”, “choose the one that is gentle with you”, “that treats you with kindness”, “that protects you”, “that supports you”. Most tellingly, she concluded with: “Choose the ONE…”, tagging Veselinov directly.

Just a day earlier, Dokic had published a lengthy statement criticizing the media for spreading breakup rumors. She accused journalists of acting like online bullies and trolls and clarified the intention behind her emotional post that sparked the speculation. Reflecting on her words “I am with someone that doesn’t love me” and “Never give up, especially on yourself”, she explained: “It had absolutely nothing to do with my relationship but about helping people in general who might be struggling with things.”

To remove any lingering doubt, the former WTA world No. 4 concluded her statement with a firm reassurance: “And just to be clear, me and my partner are very much in love.” Shortly after, she doubled down on that message by sharing the series of loving photos with Veselinov.

Dokic, now 42, went public with her relationship with Veselinov in July of this year. Their romance came three and a half years after she ended her nearly two-decade relationship with Tin Bikic.
