For the second consecutive year, Aryna Sabalenka has been voted WTA Player of the Year. The Belarusian star was the overwhelming favorite, with nearly 80% of international media members selecting her after another dominant season at the top of women’s tennis.

In 2025, Sabalenka set the benchmark across the tour: she reached the most finals (9), captured the most titles (4), notched the highest number of wins (63), and set a new single-season prize money record, earning $15,008,519. She also finished the year at No. 1 in the WTA rankings for the second consecutive season, moving up to 12th on the all-time list for weeks at the top.
Sabalenka’s performance at the Grand Slams was equally impressive. The 27-year-old finished runner-up to Madison Keys at the Australian Open and fell to Coco Gauff in the French Open final. At Wimbledon, she reached the semifinals before losing to Amanda Anisimova, then successfully defended her US Open title by defeating Anisimova in the final to claim her fourth career Grand Slam singles trophy.
Amanda Anisimova was recognized as the WTA Most Improved Player, following a season that included her first two Grand Slam finals appearances—at Wimbledon, where she was runner-up to Iga Swiatek, and at the US Open. Other 2025 award winners included Victoria Mboko as Newcomer of the Year, Belinda Bencic as Comeback Player of the Year, and Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend as Doubles Team of the Year.
