Venus Williams has added another stop to her 2026 schedule, with tournament organizers confirming her entry into the ATX Open in Austin.

The upcoming event will be her fourth competition of the year, a notable increase in activity compared to last season, when she appeared in just three tournaments overall. Williams already equaled that number in January alone, stepping onto the court in Auckland, Hobart, and at the Australian Open. Those outings didn’t result in wins, as the 45-year-old legend exited all three events in the opening round and currently sits at No. 549 in the WTA rankings.
Her next opportunity to compete will come when the Austin tournament gets underway on February 23, 2026. It will be Williams’ first time playing the Texas-based WTA 250, a relatively new addition to the tour that debuted in 2023. According to Axios, she will compete in both singles and doubles.
The 2026 Austin field will be the strongest at the tournament so far. World No. 6 Jessica Pegula returns as the defending champion, while teenage prospect Iva Jovic continues her rapid rise after a breakthrough run to the Australian Open quarterfinals. Peyton Stearns and Ajla Tomljanovic will also be there.
