Jelena Jankovic is currently playing at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart where the champion will receive a Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet (or choose the other option, $92,410 in cash).

Third seed Jelena Jankovic admitted that she’s a fan of speed and one look at the car instantly motivated her to give her best and try to win the tournament, despite the fact that she arrived in Germany tired after an exhausting ten months of competition.

“I’m a little tired and don’t feel as if I’m in top form,” said world number three Jankovic. “A look at the wonderful Porsche Turbo Cabriolet and I can immediately feel the energy coming back. I’ll be trying everything to drive off the Center Court in the Porsche on Sunday.”

“I am a careful driver but I do like to drive fast, do a little slalom through the traffic,” Jankovic said Monday. “But when you are very well-known over there, you can get away with it.

“Back home I’m thankfully easily recognized by the police. If I do go over the speed limit a little and am stopped, the police are always pleasantly surprised. Instead of giving me a speeding fine they ask me for an autograph!” (via On the Baseline, CBS Sports)

  1. Whtvr: Yeah, that’s right. But there are some things that you would never buy, but would be happy to get them as a present. Apparently, that thing is Porsche for Jankovic. 😉
