Nicole Vaidisova sustained a right wrist injury in her first round match at the Bell Challenge in Quebec City, Canada. She played against Czech compatriot Renata Voracova.
Top-seeded Vaidisova won the opening set 6-2, but lost the second set 3-6. Then, she received medical treatment, but afterwards the world No. 12 just waved to the crowd and left the court.
