Jelena Jankovic’s travel from Bangalore to Palm Springs was everything but easy, and in the process her luggage, or more precisely her belongings, were lost twice!
Here’s how Jankovic explains her struggles, with some funny comments as always:
I played in Bangalore last week and my first flight went to Dubai, then Frankfurt, then here to the States, and I eventually made my way here to Palm Springs. It felt like I went to Australia and back! I changed flights so many times I didn’t know where I was half the time […] The funniest stop was Los Angeles – I landed there around 10 or 11 at night and I was one of the only people in the airport, and there was this strange music playing, and I just looked like a wounded soldier! My eyes were blood red. I actually looked at myself in the mirror and got scared […] Sadly, my luggage didn’t come here with me. It got lost in Dubai, and I still don’t know when it’s going to get here. My mom was meeting me here, so before she left Miami (where I have a house) I asked her if she could bring me some of my clothes and other necessities, and she packed them – but her luggage also got lost! What are the chances of both of us having our luggage lost by the airlines? I think I’d have a better chance at winning the lottery.
Luckily, the luggage Jelena’s mother lost has been retrieved, so the tennis star has at least something to wear. (source: Sony Ericsson WTA Tour)
