On November 14, Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic had a meeting with Boris Tadic, the President of her home country, followed by an exclusive reception honoring the tennis star’s achievements in 2008.

“I’m very proud of myself for all I have accomplished in 2008,” said the world No.1 Jankovic. “I worked very hard and fulfilled the dream I had since I held a tennis racquet in my hands for the first time. I can’t find the right words in this moment. I remember the time when I was 10-years-old and trained in a cold balloon on Red Star courts at 6am. Thank you all for the support; my dream came true.

The meeting and reception, which took place at the Hyatt Hotel in Belgrade, were sponsored by the Serbian Tennis Federation. Jankovic got a plaque commemorating her achievements and a reward. She also received gifts from designer Roberto Cavalli and a bouquet of flowers from fellow Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic.
