Unseeded Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez won her second WTA Tour singles title by beating birthday girl Caroline Wozniacki 7-5 6-4 in the final of the inaugural International tournament Collector Swedish Open Women.

Martinez Sanchez won the first set in 45 minutes, and rallied from 1-4 down in the second to win the tight first meeting with world No.9 Wozniacki, who is now 2-4 in finals this year. The 54-ranked Spaniard has scored her second Top 10 win – she had beaten then-No.10 Nadia Petrova at Rome in May.

To reach the final Martinez Sanchez defeated seed No.4 Kaia Kanepi in the first round, Angeluque Kerber in the second round, seed No.7 Carla Suarez Navarro in the quarterfinals and Gisela Dulko in the semifinals.

Martinez Sanchez was also playing doubles final at the Collector Swedish Open Women, and together with Nuria Llagostera Vives lost to Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta 6-2 0-6 10-5.
