The word is out on Twitter that Victoria Azarenka told the media in Brazil that she had broken up with her long-time boyfriend Sergei Bubka Jr.
In her Australian Open victory speech early this year, expressing praise to the people that supported her, Azarenka also thanked her boyfriend Sergei, son of a famous pole vaulter, and that is when we introduced you to Sergei and wrote more about their relationship. Less than a year later, and they are supposedly no longer an item.
We still don’t know whether they had broken up even before Sergei fell from a third-floor apartment a month and a half ago in Paris, but Azarenka did visit him in hospital and in the interview for Brazilian media she said that his health is good now. Also, she said that she continues to communicate with him, but right now she’s single. I’m sure we’ll get more on this story in the coming days.
