Kirilenko upset, Radwanska cruises into the quarterfinals in Seoul

The three remaining matches of KDB Korea Open second round were completed on Thursday and top seeded Agnieszka Radwanska eased past Estrella Cabeza Candela 6-2 6-1, while second seed Maria Kirilenko suffered an upset to Kimiko Date-Krumm.

The 63rd-ranked Date-Krumm won in straight sets 6-3 6-1. By taking six straight games, Kimiko raced from 4-3 in the first set  to 4-0 in the second set and closed the match in one hour and 14 minutes.

In the first second-round encounter on Thursday’s schedule, South Korean wildcard Jang Su Jeong, ranked 540th, beat Tunisian qualifier Ons Jabeur 1-6 6-4 6-1 and became the first Korean WTA quarterfinalist since Cho Yoon Jeong played the final at Canberra in 2006.
