Sabine Lisicki - Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open 2014 - DSC_4940

Sabine Lisicki entered the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open thanks to a wildcard and as the top seed she ran all the way to the title, beating third seed Karolina Pliskova in the final.

The German earned her fourth career title and her first since 2011 by winning six straight games to take the first set after being 5-1 down and hanging in there in the second set after almost giving away a 4-1 lead as her 36th-ranked opponent brought things back on serve. Final score: 7-5 6-3. It’s Pliskova’s third loss of a final in 2014.

The world No.31 Lisicki earned $43,000 as the champion. What was the Nike representative’s winning clothing combo? The blue Fall Advantage Print Tank and Fall Victory Printed Pleat Skirt.

  1. Sabine was playing really good tennis but she wasn’t consistent enough to play 5-6 matches in a row with the same level. It is glad to see her winning again and it is good for female tennis to have more players like her
