Simona Halep - Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2014During the round-robin stage of the WTA Finals in Singapore Simona Halep produced the best victory of her career by beating Serena Williams 6-0 6-2, thus ending the American’s 16-match winning streak at the tournament, and now the players will clash again, in the big title match.

Earlier on Saturday, Williams toiled past Caroline Wozniacki, while Halep much more comfortably sent her opponent Agnieszka Radwanska flying away in her Lotto Women’s Maddy Dress Butterflies, 6-2 6-2. The Romanian raced to decisive leads in both sets and never allowed her opponent to come even close to challenging her win.

After suffering her worst loss in 16 years to Halep, Serena’s supposed goal in the Sunday’s final is “to win three games”, although I don’t believe her, she’s much more ambitious than that. And according to Halep’s statement, she’s not afraid to face Serena again. We’ll see what will happen, although I doubt that Serena will give away this one. (photo: Jimmie48)
