French No.1 Alize Cornet stopped Mirjana Lucic Baroni, the conqueror of last year’s runner-up Simona Halep, in the third round of Roland Garros on Friday and advanced to the second week of her home Grand Slam, the feat she had been trying to achieve for 11 years.

The victory came after numerous unfavorable moments for the 29th-seeded Cornet, including her trailing 0-4 in the first set and even her serving to the wrong side of the court in the tense third set. Eventually, she toiled past the inspiring and big-serving warrior Lucic Baroni in two hours and 32 minutes, 4-6 6-3 7-5, and celebrated as if she had won the champion’s trophy.

Have a look at Cornet’s misplaced serve. Apparently, there are so many things that can go wrong in a tennis match 🙂

With the 29th-ranked Cornet we have no shortage of hilarious happenings and Twitter account entitled “WTA Reactions” selects the funniest situations from the tennis world. Cornet has provided them with plenty of material to work with 🙂

Cornet’s fourth round opponent will be No.19 seed Elina Svitolina.
