The qualifying stage of the 2015 Bank of the West Classic in Stanford completed on Sunday and four players made their way into the tournament’s main draw.

The four qualifiers are led by Japanese WTA legend Kimiko Date-Krumm who can add yet another main draw appearance to her ever-growing list of accomplishments out on the courts in the past three decades.

Date-Krumm defeated Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski in straight set, dropping just five games against an opponent 21 years younger than herself. The veteran is joined by another Japanese player in the main draw, as Misaki Doi managed to secure her spot in the draw thanks to a three-set win over American Julia Boserup.

While Sunday proved to be the end of the road for Boserup, the local fans got to witness one of their own making the main draw as Nicole Gibbs defeated fellow American Anna Tatishvilli in three sets, joining Kateryna Bondarenko who completes the group of the four qualifiers.

Main draw action is due to kick off tomorrow, including the first matches of young American sensation CiCi Bellis & Madison Keys. Furthermore, fans can look forward to a very interesting matchup between Andrea Petkovic & fellow German Carina Witthöft.
