The 2016 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells has seen its first major upset on Saturday as reigning Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber failed to win her first match in the Californian desert.

Playing Denisa Allertova from the Czech Republic, Kerber failed to win a single set, continuing what has been a rocky road ever since her big win in Melbourne.

Other top players fared much better on Saturday as Belinda Bencic, Victoria Azarenka & Ana Ivanovic all made it into the third round of the 2016 BNP Paribas Open that is due to commence tomorrow!
