The Czech Republic has continued its amazing Fed Cup winning streak in Strasbourg on Sunday, winning their fifth Fed Cup trophy in six years.
Coming leveled into the second day of the competition against France, Sunday turned out to be an emotional rollercoaster for the Czech squad. After losing their third match against Caroline Garcia, there was more bad news in store as Petra Kvitova was unable to play her second match due to a right foot injury.
Instead, Barbora Strycova took over and did so in style, pulling out a straight-set win against Alize Cornet to force an all-deciding doubles match. Playing Carolina Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic, who had never lost a Fed Cup doubles match before, Strycova once again took control, helping her team win yet another Fed Cup trophy.
