Wilson Sporting Goods Co. announced the launch of its 2017 Limited Edition (LE) Blade and Burn racquet lines that pop with their bold bursts of electric lime green and vibrant orange. Wilson chose to make these exclusive racquets featuring highly visible colors based on tennis player feedback that bright colors are a powerful way they can express their individuality – on the WTA tour world No.20 Kiki Bertens uses LE Blade, while world No.11 Elina Svitolina, who plays the final in Rome today, hits with LE Burn.
Besides helping players make a statement on the court, the 2017 LE Blade and Burn collections carry forward the brand’s new performance tennis racquet design DNA launched in 2016, which features an uncontaminated aesthetic through clean lines, bold colors and matte finishes.
Two of the Blade and Burn LE models, the Blade 98 (18×20) CV and Burn 100 CV, feature Countervail (CV) technology which is a specialized carbon fiber that is layered into the racket frame and works to redirect the ball’s energy within the frame instead of the body, maximizing player energy, reducing muscle fatigue and shortening recovery time.
The Blade 98L LE and Burn 100LS LE offer more maneuverability and easy power for players seeking lighter frames to swing, while the Burn 100LS LE features the brand’s Spin Effect technology.
All four Wilson’s LE models include X2 Ergo and Parallel Drilling technology. The X2 Ergo Handle features a customizable handle shape to create optimal feel for the modern two-handed backhand, giving players more power, versatility and leverage. Parallel Drilling in the grommet system provides a more consistent and forgiving string bed response.
I love the electric lime green color. Pops well in red clay courts.
These are the exact same colors as the versions of 10 years ago….
