In photos: Roland Garros draw ceremony, Schiavone progresses in qualifying, elite players’ practices

Thursday was another busy day at Roland Garros, as we had the draw ceremony, second round of women’s qualifying and a bunch of practice sessions by top players. Our Jimmie48 went above and beyond to bring us as much photo coverage as possible from all the WTA happenings in Paris.

Wearing a blue short-sleeved lace dress, defending champion Jelena Ostapenko was joined by last year’s men’s champion Rafael Nadal at the draw ceremony that took place in l’Orangerie. Besides being the star of the glamorous event, Ostapenko was spotted practicing on Thursday, just as Elina Svitolina, who is coming off a successful title defense in Rome and her smile shows it, Serena Williams, Angelique KerberKarolina Pliskova, Caroline Garcia, Simona Halep, and Maria Sakkari. Notice Pliskova’s personalized Fila “Ace Queen” T-shirt and Halep’s Nike “Kiss my airs” top.

Our most important photos from qualifying are those of the 2010 French Open champion Francesca Sciavone‘s second-round victory over Jamie Loeb.
