A day after giving Serena Williams the most lopsided loss of her career, Johanna Konta recorded another straightforward victory, beating Sofia Kenin 6-1 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals of the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic. Victoria Azarenka eventually faced lucky loser Anna Blinkova in the second round, as top seed Garbine Muguruza withdrew with an arm injury, and the Belarusian needed less than an hour to make the last eight. Our Jimmie48 attended these two matches, as well as Danielle Collins‘ 6-1 3-6 6-1 second-round win over Vera Lapko.
