Saturday at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global was all about semifinal action.
In singles, Elina Svitolina fought past Kiki Bertens in three sets, while Sloane Stephens survived a first-set bagel to dispatch Karolina Pliskova.
In doubles, Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova won an all-Czech encounter with Barbora Strycova and Andrea Sestini Hlavackova. Joining the Czechs in the final are Hungary’s Timea Babos and France’s Kristina Mladenovic, who defeated Australia’s Ashleigh Barty and American Coco Vandeweghe.
