Young tennis superstar Naomi Osaka has officially revealed that she’s dating rapper YBN Cordae, by posting a photo of them kissing with LA’s Hollywood sign in the background. The musician also confirmed the relationship in a chat with Hot 97 Radio. That’s a hot new addition to my WTA Players and their Love Partners page!
The two-time Grand Slam champion disclosed her love life for the first time by posting the above photo on Instagram, saying:
Very grateful you’re in my life, always learning from you, always inspired by you. Also, always VERY entertained by you lol. Love ya kid <3
YBN Cordae commented on the photo with:
Love ya more nuggethead <3.
Rumors about this relationship sparked back in April, when YBN Cordae appeared in a video on Naomi’s Instagram and posted kissing emojis in the comments section.
In a radio interview with Hot 97’s “Ebro in the Morning”, the 21-year-old American rapper revealed that he first met Naomi during a Los Angeles Clippers game. At the time he didn’t even know who she was, because he was not following tennis. That has changed now, as he was spotted at the recently-finished US Open, cheering for Naomi during her second-round match against Poland’s Magda Linette.
The young couple is supportive of each other’s careers. When asked about her favorite music, Naomi mentioned “The Lost Boy”, her boyfriend’s debut solo album. The rapper, on the other hand, makes sure that she’s asleep on time, as he said in a recent interview with TMZ. Otherwise, he simply gets out of the way, because “she knows what she’s doing”.
Naomi’s ranking has dropped from No.1 to No.4 following the US Open and some people are already commenting that her career will now go down the drain because she’s in love. I don’t think so, but I guess they will have a hard time seeing each other as both travel a lot and are invested in their rising careers.
