Jimmie48 attended the practice session of Ashleigh Barty and then proceeded to the actual matches, covering most of the first-round action and the second-round victory of Amanda Anisimova over struggling fifth seed Elina Svitolina.
Elena Rybakina continues her spectacular form this season, eliminating Sorana Cirstea in the opening round, Dayana Yastremska beat qualifier Kirsten Flipkens, American Jennifer Brady won two tiebreaks to dispatch compatriot Alison Riske in three sets, Barbora Strycova defeated tenth seed Petra Martic, Iga Swiatek upset seed No.17 Donna Vekic, seed No.12 Marketa Vondrousova fell to Zheng Saisai, 15th seed Maria Sakkari advanced past Julia Goerges, and Anett Kontaveit beat Anastasija Sevastova in straight sets.
