Former world No.1 and four-time Grand Slam champion Kim Clijsters has been awarded a wildcard into the 2020 BNP Paribas Open, to be held March 9-22 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Now a mother of three, the 2003 and 2005 tournament champion Clijsters launched the third phase of her career at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships last week, where she lost in the first round to in-form Garbine Muguruza, and will also play the Abierto GNP Seguros in Monterrey before heading to the 2020 BNP Paribas Open, the largest WTA and ATP combined event in the world.

The 36-year-old Clijsters, a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, announced her return to professional tennis late last year after a seven-year hiatus and this will be the first time since 2011 that the Belgian will play Indian Wells.
