The WTA and ATP released a joint statement that there will be no tennis tournaments until June 7th, due to the continuing outbreak of COVID-19. This latest decision comes a few days after the WTA canceled play until May 2nd and Roland Garros bluntly rescheduled for the second half of September.
The new measure resulting from the coronavirus pandemic affects the combined ATP/WTA claycourt tournaments in Madrid and Rome, along with the WTA events in Strasbourg and Rabat and ATP events in Munich, Estoril, Geneva and Lyon.
Until further notice, tournaments taking place from June 8th onwards are still planning to go ahead as per the published schedule.
The WTA and ATP rankings will be frozen throughout this period.
