After bad news from Auckland, New Zealand, good news is coming from Linz, Austria. The Upper Austria Ladies Linz tennis tournament will take place this season from November 9th to November 15th, despite the coronavirus pandemic.

The International-level event played on hard courts is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The organizers eagerly announced the new dates on Twitter, saying: “We never give up!”

What’s more, the tournament will not be played behind closed doors. One thousand fans per day will be in attendance, according to photographer Jimmie48‘s tweet.

Reigning Linz champion is Coco Gauff. The American teenager become the youngest player to win a WTA tournament in over 15 years when she clinched her maiden title at the Upper Austria Ladies Open last October, playing as a lucky loser and beating Jelena Ostapenko in the final.
