World No.33 Barbora Krejcikova saved multiple set points and converted her sixth match point to battle past Coco Gauff in straight sets and move into the French Open semifinals.

The Czech Republic’s Krejcikova recovered from 0-3 and then from 3-5 in the first set before prevailing in the tiebreak after saving a total of five set points. The 25-year-old started racing through the second set and Gauff broke her racquet in frustration after facing a 4-0 deficit, which soon afterwards increased to 5-0.

At one point it looked like Gauff’s fighting spirit could get the 17-year-old American back on track, as she saved a triple match point in the seventh game of the second set on Krejcikova’s serve and then two more on her own serve. Still, Krejcikova’s lead was insurmountable this time. The Czech calmly earned another triple match point and confidently progressed into her first Grand Slam semifinal with a 7-6(6) 6-3 victory.
