Naomi Osaka keeps expanding her presence in the fashion industry, this time with a four-piece denim collection created in cooperation with Levi’s. The Summer 2021 offer is highlighted by a denim kimono that comes with a matching obi belt.

The tennis star puts the sustainability aspect high on her priority list, so every clothing item in the capsule has been recycled or repurposed from old stock, as she told Grazia magazine. The knee-length lace-up shorts are made from upcycled pairs of jeans, while the matching trucker jacket bustier is made from reworked Levi’s. The second shorts in the collection features long crystal fringes and is made using vintage 501 shorts.

These youthful designs are rounded out by a reinvented kimono that pays homage to Osaka’s rich Japanese heritage. The four-time Grand Slam champion explained:

I always loved wearing kimonos when I was a kid. So, to be able to do it in denim felt really different and a bit unexpected.

The Levi’s x Naomi Osaka capsule will be available on August 24 in the United States exclusively on the Levi’s App.
