Former doubles world No.1 Lucie Safarova and her long-time partner Tomas Plekanec got married this week, with their two-year-old daughter Lea in attendance.

There was some drama when Safarova and hockey player Plekanec started dating, as he was still officially married to Czech singer/actress Lucie Vondrackova with whom he has two sons, Matyas and Adam. Initially there were speculations whether it was Safarova who ruined the marriage, but Plekanec explained that at the time he started dating the tennis star, he and his spouse had already been estranged.

Safarova hung up her racquet in 2019 and gave birth to her first child that same year. We can conclude that the Czech was pregnant while playing the last matches of her career.
